A CHILDREN’S charity is selling safety products after finding parents in Colchester had to travel out of town to buy the equipment.
Prevention Town, in Crouch Street, is stocking stair gates and drawer and cupboard locks.
The charity, which provides safety guidance animations to schools and hospitals, said parents were having to visit Chelmsford and Ipswich for products.
Charity founder Ross Carroll said: “We are providing a one-stop shop for safety protection gear.
“It is in the ethos of what Prevention Town stands for.”
Products are being supplied by Dutch firm, Babydan.
The charity shop, which sells items to raise money to fund safety campaigns and animations, is seeking donation of children’s clothes, games, toys and books.
Anyone with items to donate can visit the shop or arrange a collection by calling 08443 756716.
