I’m feeling really positive about my Olympic chances for next year.

The last few years have been tough and I’ve had my fair share of injuries to deal with, but I feel I’m really on the right track now.

A big part of that is down to the work I’ve been doing with my new coach, Marty Newman.

He is at the Lee Valley track every day to take all the running and weights sessions and having him there making sure I’m doing the exercises right is a big help.

I’m really impressed with him and just feel that he’s looking after me well.

Marty knows so much and does loads of research about other runners and the way that other coaches work.

He certainly knows what he is doing and I’m already seeing the benefits of working with him.

I’ve moved my training on since my last Olympic Diary.

I feel fine after recovering from the Achilles injury I had last year and Marty has me back in spikes and working on the track.

This is a really important time for me in the build-up to the Olympics.

Next year will move really quickly because of the Olympic trials being in June so this period of preparation until Christmas is crucial.

I’m expecting my first race to come in mid-January and I’ll then be looking to run every weekend or at least every other weekend up until the trials for the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul in March.

I’d like to qualify for it as I think I can do well, but Marty says that it’s not as important.

He sees it as a stepping stone to my outdoor season because indoor running helps you work on the beginning of your race.

Marty sees the indoor season more as a chance to fine tune and I really agree with that, but I want to get to the Worlds, make the final and look to be in the medals.
