John Wolton asks for assistance from the Brooklands and Grasslands residents and the community groups (Oct 28).

I am at a loss as to why Mr Wolton is publicly asking for help? As chairman of the so-called Jaywick Forum, he has put himself in the spotlight for the last three or so years, acting as a self-styled director of all things Jaywick.

Out of the approximately.

800 homes within the areas Mr Wolton asks help from, rarely does his strictly controlled forum meetings see more than just a pitiful handful of a dozen or less, actually attend one of his monthly meetings.

Those who do venture into Mr Wolton’s meetings, have very little new news or information to listen too.

To take an in-depth look at those still active as forum members, let’s actually see just who is on the committee, and just where do they live.

I believe the chairman lives out of CO15 postcode area and the remaining members are either Tudor residents or village residents, None from Brooklands or Grasslands. So why is this?

I believe local residents just get overruled or ranks are closed by members of both the Jaywick and Tudor residents Association, and those who also serve on the Jaywick Forum.

In the past, members have been from both Grasslands and Brooklands, but nothing has ever been long lasting due to attitudes from both the above residents groups.
