Expenses cheat Lord Hanningfield faces being suspended from the House of Lords for nine months.
The House of Lords Privileges and Conduct Committee recommends the disgraced former Conservative peer, who was also leader of Essex County Council, should be barred for the same period as his prison sentence.
In September, the 70-year-old was released from prison after serving a quarter of a nine-month sentence for fiddling his Lords expenses.
