I felt compelled to write about Rupert Christiansen’s article about Firstsite and Colchester in the Telegraph, mentioned in the Gazette (October 4).
It says more about his somewhat warped ideas about the county of Essex than any clear assessment of Firstsite, its initial exhibition and the town itself.
His argument seemed to be based on Sussex being a superior county in some way, which he has failed to explain.
This suggests he hadn’t bothered to do any actual research or taken note of any statistics to back up his assessment and his article.
In other words, why should we take note or bother with such poorly argued and ignorant journalism?
