DETECTIVES are linking two burglaries which happened overnight.
A burglar entered a house in Sussex Road, Lexden, around 3am on Wednesday and took a quantity of electrical items.
The same evening, a premises in Lexden Road, Colchester, was also burgled.
One of the householders spotted a man who police believe was responsible.
He is described as white, aged between 16-18 years old; 5ft 6-8ins tall and of slim build with short brown hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured 3/4 length mac, dark trousers and dark footwear.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Vicky Lucas at Colchester on 101.
Police have also reminded householders of the necessity to keep their doors locked even when someone is on the premises.
