A CAR transporter went through the central reservation of the northbound A12 just south of Kelvedon.
The vehicle remained upright. The driver was unharmed.
Prior to the emergency services arriving at the scene, one lane northbound and southbound were still passable but long queues were starting to build up northbound and southbound.
The transporter has now been towed away. Emergency repair work to the barrier will take place overnight.
