I wouldn’t suggest the supporters of Firstsite change their view on the project, so in the same vein, should supporters be lecturing critics such as Bob Russell to change? (Gazette, September 29).
Critics, like Mr Russell, will strive to keep Firstsite’s finances transparent and accountable. This, in turn, will help keep Firstsite management from becoming too complacent.
The controversy over the build has been recently likened to Jumbo but at least local builders built it with local bricks and it helped to eradicate diarrhoea and dysentery amongst Colcestrians.
It was a necessary expense but, in these austere times, the same cannot be said for Firstsite.
