A BUS driver was assaulted and robbed by one of his own passengers in Colchester.

Police are appealing for information after the 29-year-old driver was attacked at a bus stop in Severalls Lane, Colchester.

The incident took place at about 6.30pm yesterday.

The First bus driver was on the number 65 route and pulled into a stop on Severalls Lane when he was punched in the face by a passenger who then stole cash.

The male attacker was accompanied by another man and both made off into the nearby housing estate.

The attacker is white, aged between 18 and 20-years-old.

He is six foot tall, quite stocky and was wearing a blue baseball cap, baggy blue T-shirt and blue jeans worn very low.

With him was a another white man about the same age with distinctive pale skin and blonde spikey hair.

He was wearing a green long sleeved hoodie and blue jeans also worn very low.
