A £2.5 MILLION overhaul of a major Colchester road has been delayed.
Berechurch Road, which runs from the town centre to the south of Colchester, is earmarked for reconstruction, widening and a new drainage system following years of deterioration.
But it is understood issues with drainage have forced some delays.
Ward councillor Dave Harris said he had been told the work is still expected to start by the end of October.
Tracey Chapman, councillor responsible for highways and transportation, said: “The scheme proposed for Berechurch Road in Colchester is the subject of ongoing discussions with Colchester Borough Council. As soon as these are concluded Essex County Council will be able to further advise on the scheme’s progress.”
