A CHARITY that uses animated movies to warn children of domestic dangers is opening its own shop.

Colchester-based, Prevention Town, uses computer animated characters, the Kool Family, to teach children about everything from alcohol abuse to fire safety.

Now founder, Ross Carroll, is launching his own charity shop selling products aimed at children .

“It is about expanding out brand getting awareness out,” he said.

“We are unique in that all our products will be just for children.

“The building is also going to act as an office space and a base for the charity.”

An opening ceremony for the store, on Crouch Street, will host an opening ceremony at 1pm on October 1.

Volunteers are being sought to help man the store and residents are being asked to donate unwanted childrens' goods for resale.
