POLICE are searching for a former armed response police officer who has gone missing in Colchester.
Former Met Police officer Steven Reis, 35, went missing from his parents home in Rowhedge Road at 5.20pm on Monday.
Concerns have been raised for his psychological well being and it is feared he may not be taking his prescribed medicine.
Police have mounted a search in the Rowhedge and Highwoods areas.
A spokesman said: “A specialist search advisor is also assisting with the conduct of the search and officers on foot, dog handlers and mounted officers have been deployed. “ Mr Reis is described as being 6ft 3ins, of heavy build with short brown hair.
He was When last seen wearing a long sleeved red fleece with a white t-shirt underneath, and combat trousers.
Mr Reis, or anyone with any information on his whereabouts, is asked to call the police on 0300 333 4444 or call Missing People on 0500 700 700.
