A MAN was taken to hospital after being attacked by a group of men at a convenience store in the early hours Colchester.
The victim, who is in his 20s, was pushed to the floor before being punched and kicked by the gang at the Continental Supermarket, in Crouch Street.
The shop manager, who did not want to be named, said there was an altercation outside the store before the incident happened.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said an ambulance crew was called to the scene and treated one man.
He suffered bruising to his body and was taken to Colchester General Hospital for treatment.
Anyone with information about the assault, which happened at 2am on February 25, is asked to call Colchester police on 0300 333 4444.
