A Witham man has been arrested after a man was repeatedly hit with a baseball bat.
The victim was involved in a row and hit over the head in Magdalen Street, Colchester.
He suffered a fractured eye socket, swelling, cuts and bruises and a broken left hand.
Police arrested a 47-year-old Witham man and a 65-year-old Colchester man in relation to the incident last Wednesday afternoon.
They have been bailed until April 30 while enquiries continue.
