A TEAM of rangers and volunteers have started to clear up Colchester’s Salary Brook.
The countryside rangers from Colchester Council yesterday joined councillors and other volunteers at the reserve around Titania Close and Oberon Close to clear rubbish, litter and flytipping.
The clear-up was a prelude to a community day of action in the St Anne’s area today, run by the Safer Colchester Partnership.
Tim Young, councillor responsible for housing and community safety, said: “Flytipping affects local environments, and contributes to how members of the community and others view the area around them.
“It is hoped the activity will highlight how residents can take action to combat litter and flytipping in the area, whilst restoring the natural beauty of the reserve.”
