A DEDICATED road patrol on one of the county’s busiest roads is to be all but axed.
Essex County Council has announced it is withdrawing 95 per cent of funding for police patrols on the A12 from the end of March.
The A12 Alliance was set up 18 months ago with £1.25million following a recommendation from Essex County Council’s A12 Inquiry.
It was the first council-funded patrol dedicated to reducing congestion and accidents in the country.
