AN ELDERLY couple narrowly escaped serious injury after a car plunged into their bedroom, stopping just inches from their bed.
The Ford escort crashed into their house, in Wherry Corner, Manningtree, around midnight on Good Friday.
A man from Mistley has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
