TV chefs the Hairy Bikers drew the crowds to a Colchester department store.
Police looked in at Williams & Griffin to help keep order after bosses were taken by surprise when more than 200 people turned up to get their photograph taken with the celebrity duo.
The bikers, Si King and Dave Myers, were in town to perform a stage show last night at the Mercury Theatre.
They made the guest appearance at Williams & Griffin to promote their range of kitchenware, which is stocked at the shop in High Street.
