Having read the article (Gazette, March 23) regarding the Olympic torch, we have just returned from a holiday in Antigua and while we were there the Commonwealth Games baton passed through on its way to Delhi.
We were luckily enough to carry this for a short time as part of its journey through Antigua was through the resort where we were staying and guests were invited to take part.
We felt privileged to have been part of its journey.
If Colchester was successful in its bid for the Olympic torch, it would be great for the town as it may be the only time the town would have this opportunity to be involved in this fantastic event.
