DAREDEVILS scaled the dizzying heights of a Colchester landmark to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
About 60 people abseiled from the 130ft Jumbo water tower, at Balkerne Gate, in aid of the Stroke Association.
Many came in fancy dress, including bee costumes, butterflies, pandas and parrots.
They raised £8,000 over two days for the national charity to pay for research into preventing and curing strokes.
They were guided down safely by instructors from the UK Bungee Club.
It was the first abseil the charity has held in Colchester.
Tamasan Marshall, regional fundraiser, said: “It went really well. We would definitely look at coming back to the town.”
