What a complete shambles!

This was one of the games where Colchester United had to stand up and be counted.

But they simply did not and the result? It was good-bye and good night before half-time as their title-chasing visitors and Essex-rivals Southend United demolished them in just over half-an-hour.

Freddy Eastwood, Kevin Maher and Che Wilson all struck within 31 minutes and it saw some U's fans slope away in disgust.
