Year seven at Notley High School in Braintree were due to record the outro to the pop record penned by Portsmouth-based band Ricky.
The outro, or end of the song, is a chant of the word 'easy' repeated over and over again.
The 300 pupils were joining tens of thousands of teenagers across the country in performing the football chant which will be used in the pop single, We Are England.
It is being released to celebrate England's participation in this year's World Cup football tournament.
The single is available to be pre-ordered via the band's own website at www.myspace.com/the bandcalledricky
