NEIL Danns has told his team-mates not to get complacent when they take on struggling Blackpool tomorrow.

Warning - Neil Danns insists his team-mates will have to be on their guard against Blackpool if they want to continue their run of impressive results.

The Colchester United midfield maestro will be hoping to line-up against the Tangerines, the side he tasted his first experience of League football with when on a loan spell from former club Blackburn Rovers.

That was under Steve McMahon, but it will be Danns' old Rovers team-mate Simon Grayson who will be at the helm for the Seasiders tomorrow, following manager Colin Hendry's suspension from first-team affairs last week.

Grayson made a stunning start in his caretaker role, leading his team to a 5-2 demolition of Scunthorpe United and Danns believes he has the potential to become a top manager.

He said, as the U's prepared to win their fourth game in a row on Saturday: "I knew Grayson when I was coming through the ranks at Blackburn. We played a lot of reserve games together and when I was on loan at Blackpool I used to get a lift from him.

"I think that he has got the potential to be a good manager.

"He is a players' person, which means that it's easy for any member of the team to approach him and have a chat with him.

"He's already produced the goods in one game, so we are going to have to watch ourselves tomorrow.

"I think, though, it shouldn't be just Blackpool that we have to be mindful of.

"We have to be professional in every game that we approach because we have really started to produce the goods recently and it has taken us up the table.

"We've got full points out of our last two League games, so we will be definitely trying to keep that run going."

Danns was back to his best in last Saturday's 2-1 win at Rotherham United, and believes that he is finally finding his groove following an abdominal injury.

He said: "I was returning to full fitness but I was not able to go straight in and had to spend a while on the bench.

"The time on the sidelines was a bit of a kick-up the backside. I went and did extra training with the manager, working on my fitness and getting myself into shape.

"Against Rotherham I felt a bit rusty for the first 20 minutes, but after that I got going and I was really enjoying myself.

"Hopefully, come the end of the game on Saturday I'll still be enjoying myself, especially with three more points in the bag."

Blackpool stand-in boss Grayson has been doing his homework on the U's.

He said: "They are not a bad team. They've got some good individuals like Danns, who I know from Blackburn and when he was on loan here at Blackpool.

"They are decent but there is nothing to stop us going down and getting a result.

"When we played them a month ago it was a dour game and we really should have nicked a point, but ended up conceding in stoppage time just after equalising.

"But there's nothing to stop us putting in a good performance and the team should be full of confidence really.

"It's like every team in this division - you can beat teams and you can lose to teams. It's the ones who produce the most consistency and performances that end up getting up the table and this is a team we are capable of beating."
