SEEVIC College's seven-a-side rugby team pulled off a superb triumph when they travelled to Norwich to compete in the East England Colleges' Championships.
A place in the British Colleges finals at Loughborough was at stake for the winners . . . and Thundersley's SEEVIC claimed it in style.
The team, based at Runnymede Chase, started well and won all of their pool games easily, mainly thanks to the silky skills of Tom Corbett and Craig Webb.
After defeating Palmers, Grays, in the quarter-finals and Sussex in the semis, they played the much-fancied Moulton College in the overall final.
SEEVIC College got off to a flying start, scoring tries from Leon Gateson after fantastic skills by Reece Durrant.
They continued this form throughout the game, giving an emphatic professional display in crushing Moulton 31-0 in the final to win the tournament, raise the cup and qualify for the Loughborough British Colleges' finals next April.
Captain Steve Jones said: "Winning this tournament is a great achievement.
"We now have a great opportunity to compete against some of the best players in Britain at one of the most outstanding universities in the world."
