Phil Parkinson has denied rumours he is about to swoop for Reading youngster Darren Campbell.
The 19-year-old winger spent last week on trial at Colchester United.
However, manager Parkinson has said there will be no immediate deal.
He said: "There is nothing happening. He's been on trial but the current transfer window means it is not possible for any League side to sign him until January.
"I've known him a long time, but we will have to wait until later in the season and there could be another possibility of a trial further down the line."
The winger has played barely a handful of games for the Royals and spent the majority of last season out with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
Meanwhile, Jamie Cureton is continuing to recover from the hamstring problem that kept him out of Saturday's trip to Rotherham.
