TWO people were arrested after a man was stabbed in the back at Southend seafront.

The 35-year-old victim, from Southend, was taken to hospital after he was knifed between his shoulder blades in Marine Parade.

A 19-year-old man was arrested by police following the incident and is being held in custody.

A woman was also arrested, but later released without charge.

The victim was taken to Southend Hospital by ambulance.

His injuries are not thought to be serious and he is now recovering at home.

The stabbing happened at 9pm on Tuesday.
