HOCKLEY'S Silver Dragons Martial Arts Club have tasted even more success in national competition - with founder Mel Spicer again leading the way.
Mel, 26, was joined at the 2005 Cimac British Open Superleague Championships by fellow Dragons, brother Martin and Jennifer Macaulay, with all three picking up honours.
The trio travelled to Maidenhead, Berkshire, for the open competition, which featured hardened fighters from across the country employing a wide array of martial arts styles.
Mel, using a combination of kickboxing and karate, won the Ladies' Open Weight Kickfighting event.
Brother Martin, 22, used the same combination of disciplines to take third place in the Mens' Open Weight Kickfighting category.
And a hat-trick of successes for the Dragons was completed by Jennifer, 20, who used her kickboxing skills to win third spot in the Ladies' 62kg Continuous Fighting.
