Tim Padbury, Mandy White and Gail Webster will be seeking a double defence of their titles when Leigh & Westcliff LTA holds its summer finals on Sunday.

Thorpe Bay's Padbury defends both his veteran men's doubles and veteran mixed doubles titles with John Blackman and Heather Bell respectively.

His opponents will be Jan Thorpe, partnering Jerry Hamilton and Pat Townsley, all from the Kent Elms club.

Kent Elms player White will be aiming to retain her ladies' doubles and veteran ladies' doubles crowns with clubmate Webster.

White will also team up with her husband Nigel to take on the Leigh duo of Christopher Gardiner and Lauren Dudfield in the mixed doubles showdown.

Gardiner will then partner his brother Paul, who also contests the men's singles, for the men's doubles against surprise finalists Ken Ellis and Simon Angliss of Wickford.

The Gardiner brothers warmed up for Sunday's finals by winning the Leigh & Westcliff Jubilee Cup with David Thrale and Ian Beverley against Rayleigh.

Paul and Chris won their rubber 6-3 6-1, with Thrale and Beverley winning their match by the same margin.

It is the second year in succession that Leigh have won the Jubilee Cup.
