Motorists are being reminded that there is now a one-way system in part of Halstead.
The new one-way system covers the Kings Road area of town and is designed to cut congestion there caused by parked vehicles.
However, a spokesman for Essex County Council said: "Drivers are ignoring the one-way signs which are in place from Mitchell's Avenue to Tidings Hill."
She added there is also a new lollipop person in this area for pupils of Richard de Clare School so the need for motorists to observe the one-way restriction is greater.
