TWO stalwart supporters of Southend Hospital have vowed to raise funds for its latest appeal.
Maureen Townley, from Shoebury, and Linda Ansell, from Thorpe Bay, have been raising money for Southend Hospital for more than 15 years through their stall in the outpatient's department every Thursday and by holding table sales and other events.
They are now promising to put their selling skills to good use for the hospital's new Pinpoint Cancer Appeal which is raising £350,000 for equipment that will improve the way patients receive their radiotherapy treatment.
The image-guided radiotherapy equipment will provide live scans while they are having their radiotherapy treatment. This will enable clinicians to more accurately pinpoint tumours while reducing the damage to healthy tissue.
The pair will hold a bazaar in the outpatients department on Sunday, November 6, from 11am to 4pm.
