Jubilant Essex skipper Ronnie Irani today added his congratulations as England enjoyed the limelight of their sensational Ashes victory against Australia.
Michael Vaughan's men won the series 2-1 after the fifth and final Test ended in a draw at The Oval.
And Irani was quick to hail the buoyant national side, saying: "It's great to give the Aussies a taste of their own medicine.
"To come back to win the Ashes after losing the first Test speaks volumes for the character and spirit in the England side.
"The lads simply rolled up their sleeves and got among them to run out deserved winners.
"This success will give them a tremendous boost and everyone knows now that we are the team to beat."
