Steve Howard will continue to patrol the estate, pick up litter and alert the council's clean team to fly tips and graffiti.
The community partnership between Braintree Council and Templars Community Association was extended for another year.
The deal was sealed at the Community Office in Shaw Road, Witham, yesterday and will see Mr Howard, a local resident and postman, employed for 12 hours a week.
Environment cabinet member at Braintree Council, Michael Gage, said: "The Templars Community Association are working hard to make their neighbourhood a more pleasant place to live and community warden, Steve, is doing a great job.
"The partnership shows how local people, who are involved in their communities, really make a difference and we are keen to help them.
"Community partnerships like this help to create a district in which everyone takes responsibility for making their community a cleaner, greener place to live."
