A fire chief has urged a community to give information about arsonists blighting a seaside resort.
Residents in Jaywick are still living in fear that their homes could be the next to be gutted after a spate of deliberate blazes over the summer.
Kevin Thornicroft, of Clacton fire station, said the only way to prevent more attacks is to identify the arsonists.
"Jaywick is quite a tight-knit community. If there's a fire at 3am, everyone knows about it by 7am.
"You are the people who know what's going on. Give the police what you know."
A rash of summer blazes at seafront chalets sent shockwaves through the resort.
Community leaders called for them to end before someone was killed. But police have not made any arrests.
Mr Thornicroft, told last night's Police and Community Consultation Group meeting in Jaywick: "Every fire will be investigated but the problem is no-one has got information to give us. The police can't be here all the time."
