Warming the bench was no barrel of laughs for Fabian Wilnis at Sheffield United.
And you could understand if the Ipswich Town defender was slightly miffed at his exclusion - seeing as he has been one of the Coca-Cola Championship side's star performers across the defensive back line this season.
Yet Wilnis, who will return to the starting line-up for tonight's visit of Southampton due to the suspension of full-back Castro Sito, holds no grudges towards Blues boss Joe Royle.
The happy-go-lucky Dutchman told the Gazette: "It was very disappointing on Saturday.
"Not only because I was on the bench, but because of the result (Town lost 2-0).
"It's not nice to be left out, especially when you know you've been playing well but you just have to show the manager even more when you're back in the team.
"The manager came up to me on Friday to tell me. He said that it wasn't an easy decision and one that he wasn't looking forward to telling me either and that I've been playing really well, but because Jason (De Vos) was available again, the manager opted to bring him back in and I can understand his decision."
