The thrill factor is back at Layer Road.
After several tepid showings Colchester United put on a show to delight the masses in a relentless match against Doncaster Rovers.
It had it all, surprise opening, own goal chaos, penalty shock, goal line clearances and denials by the woodwork.
The match even offered one turn before the game started.
Doncaster cheif Dave Penney in a desperate bid to find a winning formula made seven changes to his team that had lost 1-0 to Blackpool the previous week.
It meant that while Parkinson was fielding a scratch side with players who had been drafted in late on after passing fitness test or had already figured in every game this season, Penny had the luxury of well-rested team.
It was the war horses, though, that drew first blood and in a sensational way on just 44 seconds.
