Volunteer drivers are being sought to help transport non-emergency patients from hospitals and healthcare centres.
The ambulance car service, which conveys thousands of patients daily, needs drivers who are under 66-years-old, able-bodied and who are willing to spare a few hours on weekdays, evenings and some weekends.
Expenses are paid to volunteers who should have clean driving licences and have a four or five-door car, estate or minibus in good condition.
Application forms can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to The office manager, Broomfield Ambulance Liaison Office, Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex.
