Police have appealed for help in tracking down two robbers who threatened a Colchester shop assistant.

An Essex Police spokesman said the attack happened at 5.10pm on Tuesday night at Hazels News in Harwich Road.

A white man in his early 20s and an asian man aged about 19 entered the newsagent wearing cloth around their heads.

They threatened the female shop assistant with a screwdriver before making off with a substantial amount of cash.

They ran off the same way they had approached, down a footpath leading to Parsons Heath.

The man in his 20s wore black jeans and a black top; his accomplice was about 5ft 2in tall, had a moustache, and was also weaing dark clothes.
