A host of new jobs are coming to south Essex, it was announced today.
Food company Gerald McDonalds is relocating and centralising its operation to Basildon, bringing 30 new jobs.
Council chiefs have given the company the go-ahead to build a 4,000-sqm warehouse on the Pipps Hill industrial estate at Cranes Farm Road.
It will be used to blend and store fruit juices and spices.
Basildon's strong transport links lay behind the move, according to councillor Ken Adlam, chairman of the council's central Basildon area committee.
He said: "This is another significant investment in Basildon. It once again highlights the attractiveness of our district.
"Major developments like the Festival Leisure Park, the Barclays Life office HQ and the Fodderwick Centre show that more and more key decision makers have recognised that Basildon has the proven recipe for success."
