Former FA Chief Executive Graham Kelly is to make an appearance at Pitsea's Bowers United this month.
Kelly, who sensationally quit Lancaster Gate on December 15 after revelations surrounding a loan to the Welsh FA, had pencilled in a January 21 appointment at the Crown Avenue ground for a dinner staged by the Basildon Referees' Association.
With the original nod being given two months ago, association chairman, Chris Lee, left nothing to chance and received confirmation of the appointment from the former soccer supremo live on BBC Radio Five Live on Monday morning.
The evening is scheduled to get underway from 8pm and refreshments will be available.
For those wishing to join the ranks of the "men in black", Basildon Referees Association are staging a 10-week course at Laindon Community Centre.
The fully FA-accredited course begins next Tuesday at 8pm, with a cost of £24 for juniors and £29 adults.
Contact Chris Lee on 01268 524781 for further details of the training course.
I'll be there - Graham Kelly, pictured on the day he left the FA, has confirmed he will be at Basildon Referees' Association dinner on January 21
