A NEW support group has been set up in Colchester for people affected by gastro-intestinal cancer.
The Gastro-Intestinal Cancers Support Group is run by specialist nurses at Colchester General Hospital on the third Thursday of every month.
It is for patients, partners, friends, caregivers and family members affected by gastro-intestinal cancers, which include oesophageal, stomach, pancreas and colorectal.
The first meeting of the group, which has has received funding from the charity Macmillan Cancer Support, took place this month, and saw more than 20 people attend.
The next meeting will take place at 6.30pm on Thursday April 15. Parking is free and refreshments are provided.
