New traffic-calming measures have been given the go-ahead for the St Anne's estate in Colchester.
Highways chiefs have listened to residents who told a public consultation exercise one of their biggest concerns was the speed of cars near their homes. And now the cash - £75,000 - has been set aside for the project.
Measures will include narrowing of the Barkstead Road and Barnardiston Road junction, and altering of the Wilson Marriage and Barnardiston Roads where they meet Goring Road, to improve the signing.
A 20mph-zone will also be created in Ayloffe Road, Barkstead Road, Barnardiston Road, the Causeway, Goring Road and Wilson Marriage Road. Road humps will be installed in Barkstead Road, Barnardiston Road, the Causeway and Wilson Marriage Road.
