A problem-plagued corruption trial involving a former Maldon mayor has been put off again.

Ron Daws, now of Hasketon, Suffolk, and property developer Stephen Sibley of High Street, Thorpe-le-Soken, had been due to face a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court on corruption charges dating back a decade.

Three previous trials involving the men have been halted for various reasons.

Yesterday the latest trial was stopped when judge Jonathan Haworth was told there is illness in the Sibley family. He adjourned the case for a date to be fixed - possibly March next year.
