After two defeats in their opening league matches against Stansted and Ilford, Brentwood began to show their real potential with a convincing win at Sawbridgeworth on Saturday.
Michael Gore, top scorer for the last two seasons, returned from holiday and scored a hat trick. Jason Fairweather netted twice and Dave Stittle also got on the scoresheet.
Brentwood Reserves lost 1-0 at home to Great Wakering Rovers in the Essex & Herts Border Combination on Saturday.
