The ladies at the Forresters Golf Club played their autumn meeting competition which consisted of 18 hole strokeplay in the morning and afternoon a nine hole permutation stableford two from three.

Mornings results winner was Muriel Loveridge net 69, second Helen Bray net 70, third Maggie Lintner also net 70.

Afternoon results winners of front nine Barbara Luxford/Cathy Hamilton-Smith/Josie Stevens 44 points. Winners of back nine Angela Roast/Zara Patel/Jo Dixon 39 points.

Last week the ladies played their September medal with Division I winner being Glennis Adlington net 68, second Maggie Lintner net 68. Division Two winner Jane Collier net 68 second Carol Bird net 69.

Winner of the mini medal Jean Drew net 79.

The Veterans section played their September monthly medal with the Gold Division winner Alan Moss net 63, second Colin Wood net 66, third Jim Bailey net 68. Silver Division winner Phil Ingram net 64, second Stan Staines net 66, third Brian Littlewood net 67.

The Vets' player of the year 1999 based on monthly medals is Mr Colin Wood.

Last weekend the club's finals day took place with the winners of Dixons sponsored foursomes being club captain Dennis Cornwell and Valerie Cummins by one hole from Dorothy Thornton and Terry Pryor.

Winner of the ladies singles was Laura Ship, winner of the vets', singles Liam Doyle, winner of the junior singles Graham Babbs and winners of the men's pairs Colin Loveridge and Peter Andrews.

Winner of the ladies pairs was Jennifer Wall and Helen Bray and winners of the vets pairs Reg Brawn and Reg Land.

Sue James had a hold in one but lost in the ladies pairs.
