Law and Ronnie Irani are the 1999 winners of the Essex Boundary Club's batsman and bowler of the year supporters' trophies.

The awards go to the batsman and bowler who score the most runs and take the most wickets for Essex in Championship, one day and tourist games from April 17 to the cut off date of September 7.

Law capped a magnificent season by scoring 2,186 runs for Essex during this period -- a massive winning margin of 945 runs over the second placed Paul Grayson (1,241).

Irani finished third with 1,140 runs but proved what a fine all round season he has had by topping the wicket taker list with 67 victims to his credit.

Law's career best 263 against Somerset would have won but the competition rules state that players can only win one prize so Darren Robinson's double century against New Zealand qualified as the next best.
