The quiet image of Frinton has been rocked as a punk rock band from the town is recording their first live album tonight.
The Audio Terrorists are not what you would expect from the genteel seaside resort.
Lead singer of the band Charles Rogers said: "We are taking the vibe of 1977 but then we are mixing with more classical rock like Led Zeppelin. We're a little quirky."
He added: "It's quite funny. When I meet people at gigs from London or Chelmsford and I tell them where I am from, they think of Frinton and I am not what they expect. It's quite amusing."
Charles, who lives in Kirby, splits his time between music and studies in Chelmsford.
The other members of the band are also students - Jamie Roebuck ,from Beaumont, plays bass guitar and studies philosophy and psychology at Oxford University while drummer John Lyddon, from Frinton, is doing a music course at the Colchester Institute.
Tonight the three will perform at the Oliver Twist where they hope to record their first live album.
The Audio Terrorists will perform at the Oliver Twist in Military Road Colchester tonight after 9pm, tickets £3.
A coach will leave the Red Lion at Kirby le Soken at 8pm, leaving the Oliver Twist at 11.30pm, with tickets costing £2.
