It's full steam ahead for the world's biggest coffee morning.

The kettle will be on the boil all over the country on Friday, October 1 to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Relief.

In Walton, Grace Hatton will be leading the way and passing out the cups.

Grace, who is 75, has raised more than £17,000 for cancer charities over 20 years and she is now organising yet another fundraising morning at the sheltered unit where she lives.

Grace had extensive cancer treatment 25 years ago and the fundraising is her way of paying back the Colchester doctors and nurses who helped her recover.

"If you are spared you feel there must be a reason so I have been fundraising for cancer research ever since," she said.

Grace's coffee morning will be held at Mead House, Saville Street, from 9.30am and there will be lots of stalls, raffles and refreshments on sale.

There is also another coffee morning at Great Holland Village Hall from 10am and at the Stranwell School of Dancing in High Street, Clacton, and at 76 Connaught Avenue, Frinton.
