A pensioner has been robbed at knifepoint on the stairs of a flat in Whitmore Court, Whitmore Way, Basildon.
The robber, wearing a dark-coloured scarf and bobble hat and aged about 16, came up behind the woman as she climbed the stairs at 9.30am on Monday.
The 73-year-old victim, who was said to be badly shaken by the robbery, handed over her purse which contained £30.
