Southend Oakwood Sports saw their superb run in the FA Umbro Sunday Cup come to a crushing end at the hands of strong Birmingham outfit Grosvenor Park.
In the quarter-finals, at Aveley, Southend Sunday League Oakwood lost 6-0 to the Midlanders, who had already kncoked seven goals past Sceptre League Aspect Sports on their way to this stage of the competition.
The only League Cup tie played, a Section C round three affair, saw a lone goal from S Packman enough for Olympus to beat Rochford Town Sports 2nd.
In the Premier Division of the Sunday League, a nap hand of five goals from Malpass helped CZ 81 win 6-2 at Trinity.
Rochford Town Sports were also six-shooters, Clark getting two as his side taught Southend Academ-icals a lesson to the tune of 6-2. Caplin's twin-strike was vital for Town, 5-0 winners over Avenue in the Rayleigh battle.
Southend United Support-ers lost 2-0 at Kings Field Casuals with B Chester and J Butler scoring. Kenrick and Highstead gave Wheatleys a 2-1 success at Lodge Athletic.
Hodgson, E Emmons and D Griffiths all managed two-goal tallies as Spartek rocked Thorpe Athletic 7-1 in Division One.
Paul Martin grabbed a hat-trick in Division Two, but his Shoebury Old Boys side were held 3-3 by a Hullbridge Sports 2nd outfit for whom N Ashington scored two.
There were two hat-trick heroes in Division Three. R Lloyd managed his feat for Vichouse Sports, who won 8-4 at North Bank United. Day's trio saw Grid Athletic home 5-2 at Wadham Park Rangers.
Sporting Benfleet were in seventh heaven in Division Four. Barr and C Hume scored two each as his side beat Blenheim Wanderers 7-1.
In Division Five, Gunners shot down Fram 6-4 with K Ranson scoring three. K Smith's brace helped Leigh Ramblers see off Rayleigh Avenue 2nd 5-0.
Cooper and Waite got two each as Rayleigh Town 2nd won their visit to Rochford United 5-1.
Bell Sports were really ringing the goal bells with Benson, Partridge and S Jones all grabbing hat-tricks as Sutton Sports 2nd were crushed 15-0 in Division Six.
Sharpe netted four and Lewis three as Borough Rovers beat Chalkwell 9-5, while Merenda's twin strike helped Ness Rangers win 6-2 against Carlyle Sports. No less than 44 goals were scored in five matches in this division.
McDonald served up a tasy dish with a goal trio for Kursaal Flyers, 5-4 winners over the Royal Bank of Scotland in Division Seven. Sweetingham cashed in with three for the losers. Shelley waxed lyrical for Hawkwell Athletic 2nd and his trio, plus a double from Yates, saw his side beat Kings Field Casuals 2nd 5-2.
In Division Eight., Towerfield Rangers had a hat-trick from J Emmons playing a leading part in a 4-0 win over Dionysus.
