Skipper Malcolm Murray kept Ridley League South Section leaders the New Barn on track for one individual darts trophy with another never-say-die show last week.
Last season's league singles champion looked a 'goner' in his Captain's Cup semi-final against holder, Bob Eady (Cricketers, Dunmow), but dug in to win the deciding leg and give his side hope of retrieving something from what has been a disappointing season in the individual knock-out competitions.
Murray will face Robert Branch, of North Section newcomers the Onley Arms, Stisted, on finals' night, June 13.
Branch, using a stick to protect a leg injury, bravely saw off Phil Walker (Railway Club) and Paul Statter (Butcher's Arms) to earn his place.
Panfield Bell's Port Kirton, already through to the men's pairs final, will play Roy Bovington (Onley Arms) for the Licensee's Cup currently held by Kirton's brother, Derek.
And Derek Kirton completed a good night's work by the family by reaching the Secretaries' Cup final where he will meet the Red Beret's Dean Willsher.
